Shop Ride Finale - Wednesday 23rd March

As we draw closer to the inevitable ending of Daylight Savings, we look back at what was probably the wettest Summer any of us can remember and reminisce about the lost days of mountain biking. Many of the trail centres around Melbourne have received their fair share of closures and maintenance, leaving mountain bikers struggling to find regular spots to hit the dirt. It has certainly been a tumultuos season for the Wednesday Night Shop Rides too, as many of you would know from the regular cancellations due to the Yarra trails being literally underwater.

However, it has given us a chance to re-think the way we organise shop riding and for the rest of the year we will be taking a more "sporadic" approach to planning shop rides, so keep an eye out for updates via this Blog and Facebook. And for those with night lights, there will be opportunities for weeknight shop rides over Autumn and Winter.
Additionally, we will be putting more time into organising Weekend Shop Rides for Secret Singletrack Society members, like the trip to Forest earlier this month.

That all aside, we are looking to send off the season-gone, and are hoping that those devotees of the Wednesday Shop Ride will be able to join us in celebration next Wednesday night, the 23rd of March.
We will be heading out per normal (leaving the shop at 6pm and meeting at the Fairfield pipe bridge at 6:30pm) though the ride will be a bit shorter as we are heading to the Peacock Inn Hotel on High Street for a pub feed and a few beverages.
It will be a great chance to catch up with those Wednesday Night Shop Riders and send off the Summer season in the best way mountain bikers know how. All are welcome to celebrate/mourn and we hope to see you there!

P.S: We think we may have a new contraption that will assist us in riding the Yarra Trails regardless of how wet it is. What do you think?
