Ready to be opened up - The Santa Cruz Tallboy 29er

When we launched Santa Cruz Bicycles @ My Mountain a few months back, we noticed that there was one particular model that seemed to be receiving more attention than any other model in the Santa Cruz lineup. Whether people were asking about pricing, colours, demo rides or even if they could have an opportunity to see one in the flesh, the Carbon Tallboy 29er has had a lot of buzz around it.

Being the first 29er bike in the Santa Cruz family, the Tallboy was always going to receive a lot of buzz and attention (thanks to their marketing gurus in California). Though since the debut of their Carbon 29er, they have proved that this bike has more than lived up to the hype due to its stellar VPP suspension design, confident trail geometry and rigid frame construction.
Whether you're racing or just weekend trail riding, the Santa Cruz Tallboy is an amazing trail weapon that combines the stability of a 29er bike, with the quality handling and suspension that Santa Cruz have built their reputation on.

At just over 2kg for the frame and shock, the Carbon Tallboy frameset brings with it all the advantages of modern carbon fibre construction as well as some proprietry layup techniques that you'll only find on Santa Cruz bikes.
It's stout mini-link VPP suspension design keeps it laterally stiff and easy to maintain - something that's important to privateer racers and trail riders concerned about durability.
Although you've got 100mm of travel out back, the Tallboy frame will accomodate a 100-120mm travel fork up front, depending on the sort of ride quality you're after. 120mm gives a more upright trail-riding position, while a 100mm long fork will suit racers and XC types after more nimble steering.

You can get the Tallboy as a frameset, or as a complete bike like you can see here.
We've got complete Tallboys starting from just over $5k, with varying build kits available in SLX, XT and the flagship XTR spec.
