2012 Trek Remedy 9 - The 150mm travel trailblazer

With massive worldwide demand slowing down deliveries, we've finally managed to get our hands on the much-hyped 2012 Trek Remedy 9. With 6" of travel and the brand new Fox DRCV fork, the Trek Remedy is ready to take you into Hyperspace! Though if you're not really a fan of Hyperspace, it will also just as easily pilot you out to Mt Buller or the You Yangs.

The big story for the 2012 Trek MTB range is the addition of the DRCV suspension technology to the high end Fox Forks. Used on the rear shocks for the past 3 seasons, the Dual Rate Control Valve utilises 2 air chambers inside the fork to provide a much bigger air volume once you're deep into the travel.
The result? Smooth consistent travel that feels like a coil spring, all with the weight and adjustability that comes with an air spring.
Also new for 2012, the Float 150 RLC forks feature the blingtastic Gold Kashima Coat on the fork stanchions, servicing to reduce stiction and increase that buttery-smooth feel.

Perhaps the coolest gadget on the new Remedy, the brand new XTR Trail rear derailleur features a gold switch to engage a stiffer tension spring to reduce chain slap. Think of the XTR Trail rear derailleur as a mini chainguide, in that it increases chain tension - pretty cool huh?
The laser accurate 10 speed XT/XTR drivetrain is what you would expect on a bike of this level, and complements the quality of the overall bike nicely.

For 2012, numbers-geeks will notice that Trek has slackened out the head angle on the Remedy for improved DH stability, and having ridden one of these bad boys out on the trail we can honestly say that it is a better bike for it.

Combined with the DRCV suspension and ABP rear suspension linkage the Trek Remedy is a super confident and super plush bike to hit up technical black diamond trails on.

If you're wriggling uncontrollably in your seat while reading this, hop into My Mountain to see the Remedy in all its raw aluminum glory and get one of these machines out on to some techy trails near you - Warning: Remedy may increase your riding abilities, confidence on the trail and general attractiveness
