Custom Gary Fisher Superfly Singlespeed

With only a handful of these beautiful frames being produced worldwide, the singlespeed-specific Superfly frameset is a bit of a unicorn in the bicycle world, and with a RRP of $3999, it's not hard to see why!
We managed to snag the last one in Australia (1 of 3!) for one of our store ambassadors; Tall Tim, in the uber 21.5" XL size. The factory frameset comes with the frame, custom G2 Fox RLC fork, Cane Creek integrated headset and Bontrager RXL stem.

The frame is made up from a gorgeous carbon fibre tubeset, with a very organic profile due to the oversized bottom bracket and headtube areas. Sharing the same geometry as the standard Superfly, the singlespeed version will build up into a very lightweight XC bike, which Tim plans on racing at enduros and local events.

The very trick sliding dropouts are the ultimate way to setup a singlespeed bike. Simply wind up the tension bolts till the chain is taut, and lock down the dropout bolts - easy!
With the disc brake mount integrated into the dropout, you don't need to constantly adjust the brake when you take your wheel in and out. Compared to the previous Gary Fishers with the EBB (Eccentric Bottom Bracket), the sliders are simpler, lighter and less likely to develop annoying noises or movement.

We will be looking on with envy as Tim decides on the custom build for his new frame, with the next piece of the puzzle being a custom Hope/Stans wheelset that will be coming together in the next week or so.
So if you're interested in the build or the Superfly frameset, set aside about 7 hours of your time to let Tim blabber/drool to you about how awesome this bike will be!
