Santa Cruz Nickel Demo Bike

We had a pleasant visit from our local Santa Cruz rep last week, when he dropped past to bring us in a brand new Santa Cruz Nickel demo bike to test out for a couple of weeks.
As you can see by the muddy residue, Mark has already had the pleasre of riding the Nickel when he headed out to Erica MTB park last Saturday for the Secret Singletrack Society ride.
The Nickel is a new 5" trailbike from Santa Cruz and sits between the Superlight and Heckler in terms of travel and geometry. The big deal with the Nickel however, is it uses Santa Cruz' new suspension design called APP, which is designed to bridge the gap between their single pivot models and the more expensive Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) bikes.
It's a little heavier, plusher and slacker than an equivalent Trek Fuel EX, but the Nickel is about maximising fun on the trail and is made to take hits like a much bigger bike.

You can read more about the Santa Cruz Nickel here.

If you've been interested in the whole "APP" design and wanted to see one in the flesh, come past MMHQ in Brunswick to check out the demo Nickel while it's still here. Better yet, book a spot to take this bad boy out on the trails yourself and see just how much it makes you giggle like a school girl!

For more information about other dual suspension models, check out Santa Cruz Bikes here.
We will also be getting a Tallboy 29er demo bike into the shop in the near future, so keep an eye out for details once it arrives.
