Yep, it's that time of year again! All of the shiny new toys that we've all been drooling over in magazines and on manufacturers websites are starting to materialise on the showroom floor, and the 2012 Pivot mountain bike range is no exception. 2012 Pivot Mach 5.7 Carbon

One of the most anticipated bikes for the 2012 riding season, the Mach 5.7 Carbon has taken everything that made the alloy version so good and put it on steroids. With a frame & shock that is actually lighter than a Mach 4, but in a 145mm travel frame that features a 13.7" BB height and a 67 degree head angle, the Mach 5.7 Carbon is a long-travel trail bike that defies logic. Pivot bikes are already well renowned for their laterally stiff frames, but with the carbon hollow-box construction, Tapered head tube, BB92 and 142x12 rear thru-axle used on the Carbon Mach 5.7, this is sure to be an efficient trail bike with DH-like point and shoot handling.

2012 Pivot Mach 429

Just like the latest Mach 4 and 5.7 frames, the Mach 429 has undergone a bit of a makeover for 2012 to introduce some new frame technology that has boosted stiffness and decreased overall weight by over 250 grams. This 4" travel dual suspension 29er has received more accolades than any other bike in its class thanks to Pivot's meticulous frame construction, efficient dw-link suspension and sorted geometry. If you like winding through technical singletrack that is littered with roots and rocks, or you're after an efficient race bike for 12 and 24 hour enduros, the Mach 429 is an excellent choice and is a great example of how a well designed 29er can match 26" bikes when it comes to acceleration and responsive handling. With the new Tapered head tube, 142x12 rear thru-axle and lighter hydroformed top tube, the latest Mach 429 just keeps getting better.

2012 Pivot Phoenix

The Phoenix is Pivot Cycles flagship DH race bike that displays the evolution of Dave Weagle's dw-link suspension design from first working with brands like Ironhorse on the classic Sunday frame and later with boutique US-brand Turner on their DHR. Of course there are many "me-too" downhill bikes on the market that look similar to the Phoenix, but it is Pivot's careful linkage positioning, custom valved Fox RC4 Kashima rear shock and carefully engineered frame that sets the 207mm travel gravity sled apart from the rest. CNC-machined dropouts that allow for wheelbase and chainstay length adjustment, high-grade sealed cartridge bearings and the addition of a Cane Creek Angleset for adjusting the head angle show Pivot's commitment to the privateer DH racer in providing a bike that can be setup for any course conditions, while also being capable of lasting many seasons of shuttling and bombing trails.
